3 main drivers to this:

  1. Autonomy – having a say and being provided the opportunity to collaborate in the what, how, where and when

  2. Competence – it’s human nature to have a desire to learn, grow, and make progress in gaining additional skills

  3. Relatedness – knowing who you’re helping and what you’re doing is going to help

Hopefully, you’re offered some level of these at your current positiion.
