“I’m going to wait and see”

Maybe you’ve thought about making a change, but the next promotion cycle, bonus or annual raise is just around the corner.

It’s buying you some time to figure out what to do.

Usually, 3 possible outcomes happen afterwards.

1. Pleased – It met your expectations and you’ve decided to stay (“about time, they recognized my hard work”).

2. Disappointed – It did not meet your expectations and now you’re expediting your exit (“I knew it, I should have left months ago”).

3. Neutral – It wasn’t exactly what you were expecting but it will do for now (“I’ll hold off for 6 months and see what happens”).

The wait and see can be a torturous process.
