“We offer a competitive salary…”

Who determines how competitive the salary actually is?

Often competitive to an employer, is not the same competitive to the job seeker.

My 7 year old may think my 27 second 100 meter dash is competitive.

And 8 time Olympic medalist, Usain Bolt, who runs a 9.58 100 meter dash, would call me a joke.

If you get approached with a general term of “competitive”, please try to narrow it down to a specific number (or range), before you get too far along in the interviewing process.
