Being a Salesforce Specialist or a Generalist

Is one better than the other?

I used to think having a specialty was the way to go, but now as I continue to see more and more job descriptions asking for a broad range of skills and experiences (Admins with Apex, anyone?), my thoughts are not so straight forward.

As technology continues to evolve and stack on top of each other, will having experience across multi clouds, technologies, industries, roles, languages, etc. play to your advantage?

Or will being an expert in 1 or 2 specific areas help you stand out?

Maybe there’s room for both…
