“Hi all, I’m a newly certified Admin, and I’m looking for my 1st Salesforce opportunity, 100% remote only. Thanks, Chris”
While, everyone’s situation is different, in general, if you’re just starting your Salesforce career journey, and you’re laying down disclaimers about what you’re wanting on day 1, I think you might be setting yourself up for a long road ahead.
Yes, I know remote is where many of the cool kids are playing.
But, you’re also in a highly competitive newcomer job market.
I don’t think the same rules apply.
If an employer posts a position, and the 1st statement you make is:
“I’m interested, is this remote?”
In many cases, you’ve probably already lost.
The more flexible, scrappy, and open, you are to get your Salesforce career started, the better off you’re going to be.
Hiring managers are often looking for those who are willing to go the extra mile, as it says a lot about an applicant’s professional demeanor.
Please think about what you’re up against, and what you can do to help make yourself more employable/likeable/flexible.
We’re rooting for you…
